WHO WE ARE

Founded in 1999, Vortex Strategic Alignment operates as a niche and targeted small business, specialising in public sector and non-governmental strategy, monitoring and evaluation, and organisational development. We are currently focused on supporting clients in South Africa and the SADC region, with our head office in Johannesburg, and branches in the Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and KwaZulu-Natal.

We take pride in the fact that our processes and content are locally developed, sensitive to both public sector and private sector environments, and are yet world class in quality and standard.

The fields of strategy design and alignment, performance monitoring and evaluation, business systems and process optimisation, and human capital are constantly changing and dynamic. Vortex is, therefore, constantly focused on innovation, research, benchmarking, and the development and updating of material, content, and processes to ensure that we remain relevant, compliant, and at the forefront of our field.

Since our establishment, we have built an extensive track record that includes both private sector and public sector clientele, many of whom have used Vortex Strategic Alignment for multiple recurring projects.

Peter Bruton

Founder and Managing Director

21+ years as a senior strategy, and monitoring and evaluation specialist.
16+ years dedicated to public sector strategy and planning, and monitoring and evaluation.

Patrick Meyer

Director

+16 years in senior/executive operational management in various organisations (public and private sector).
+8 years consulting experience in strategy and business planning.

Marianne Missio

Principal Consultant

+15 years senior consulting experience in business planning, organisation design and development, change management, leadership development, and performance optimisation.
+16 years in senior/operational management positions in the Liberty Group.

Mr. Bashir Amanjee

Senior Consultant

+16 years consulting experience in private and public sector in business transformation and organisational development projects.



In addition, consultants will be brought to bear on the client’s intervention, in their field of expertise, ensuring the client benefits from the knowledge, experience and skill of freelance individuals committed to their field of excellence, but minimising the costs incurred in maintaining full-time staff – a benefit passed on to the client.

CALIBR8 MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGIES

Vortex is a licensee for the Calibr8 Job evaluation and grading system in South Africa. Since 2008, the system has been implemented in 27 organisations in South Africa, including the DPSA, Water Boards, SAA, MQA, JCPZ, COJ, JSE and others.

The Calibr8 job evaluation and grading system has been thoroughly tested against results obtained on most well-known systems, not merely a statistical analysis, but using a content analysis approach as well. Calibr8 is thus able to provide equivalences to most of the major job evaluation systems so as to enable clients to be able to utilise whatever salary survey they wish to use for remuneration purposes.

SOFTCRAFT RESEARCH SA

Vortex has a Memoranda of Understanding with Softcraft Research – who specialise in the development and implementation of ICT based research studies and surveys.

Our agreement allows Vortex to access Softcraft’s existing IT platform and development and roll-out expertise to host and conduct ICT based surveys and research, such as:
